WORD NERD

Julie is part of Carew Co’s posse. She’s a freelance copywriter who has wormed her way into Carew Co’s inner sanctum (her words!) and has worked with us on a ton of projects. When we need web content or branding work, we give Julie a call.

HOMETOWN
Boise, Idaho, by way of Twin Falls and Patterson, California.

UNIVERSITY
Undergrad in journalism from the University of Montana. Go Griz!

JOB TITLE
Copywriter and Professional Carew Co Hanger-On.

AFFILIATIONS
Member of Euzkaldunak and past committee member of Jaialdi 2010 and 2015. My husband and I also host a yearly workshop for The Atlanta School.

OFFICE NICKNAME
Don’t think I have one! But I respond to “Jules.”

FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING WITH CAREW CO
Carew Co has the coolest clients — this crew seems to attract them. I started working with Paul shortly after I went freelance, and he’s always had my back and pushed me to be my most creative. I really lucked out when he called me for the first time and asked me to collaborate on a project.

FAVORITE PROJECT
I had a blast when we worked with Consilio. They inspired my favorite tagline: “Love your work.” That project was amazing. The website redesign was beautiful, the clients gave me serious job envy, and everyone infused the whole endeavor with enthusiasm and respect.

GUILTY PLEASURES
Binge watching. Ugh, it’s so bad. I also have a weak spot for Beefeater martinis and beauty products. My family and friends are kind enough to enable me with Sephora gift cards.

STATE OF LIVING QUARTERS
I live with my husband, Greg, and two very spoiled mutts named Thor and Poppy. We also have a bunch of chickens that fail to lay eggs. This annoys me. You have ONE JOB, chickens!

ON THE WEEKENDS
My ideal weekend would be spent watching movies while semi-prone on the couch, but I have a very animated husband who keeps me from fulfilling my sloth-like tendencies. We do a lot of traveling — I love to travel — and hang out with our friends and family. They’re pretty cool.

SECRET TALENT
Give me a few cocktails and I’ll read your palm.
